What is a Custodian?

A custodian is a third-party financial institution that holds your investment assets for safekeeping. Custodians like Schwab and NFS handle the operational side of your investments—such as trade settlement, statements, tax reporting, and account security—while we, as your advisor, focus on what matters most: your financial strategy, goals, and legacy.

What firm(s) hold our clients' funds?

At Stewardship Wealth Management, client assets are safely held with two of the industry’s most respected custodians—Charles Schwab and National Financial Services (NFS), a Fidelity Investments company. Both institutions provide a secure infrastructure for trade execution, recordkeeping, and account protection. Their scale, technology, and long-standing reputations give our clients peace of mind that their assets are protected by world-class systems and oversight.

Why work with Stewardship Wealth?

While Schwab and NFS are large, trusted institutions, working directly with them means managing your own investments without personalized guidance. Stewardship Wealth Management partners with these custodians to give you the best of both worlds—the security and technology of national firms, combined with the tailored attention and strategic planning of a boutique wealth management practice.

As an independent firm, we act as your advocate—not an employee of the custodian—ensuring your plan, portfolio, and progress always align with your best interests. Our role is to provide proactive advice, investment discipline, and a deeply personal relationship that the custodians themselves simply cannot offer.
